Why science and theater?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Every kind of science, from the physics of quarks to the evolution of societies, is about relationships. Theater, of course, is relationships all the way down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science is the study of the natural world and our place in it. Theater is a place where we gather to think about how and why that matters.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Why Infinity Box?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

During World War II, a room where a group of smart people gathered to solve a problem came to be called a \u201cbrain box,\u201d after a slang term for the skull. This idea later grew and evolved into what we call a Think Tank. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We now face questions so complex that the best way to ask them is in the form of stories. Infinity Box is dedicated to the task of using theater to explore questions about the human consequences of science and technology. We define an “infinity box” as a small space where anything is possible.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

What if a theater is a think tank?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

This is the question that gave rise to the idea of Infinity Box Theatre Project. What if a community of people \u2013 scientists and science communicators, theater artists, and audience members \u2013 all think of ourselves as members of a think tank?
